While we all may be familiar with the ingredient and its' properties, many don't know how to use the ingredient.
When I use Aloe, I often use it on my body and skin to give my skin the needed hydration needed. One of my favorite things I use Aloe Vera Gel is to create Facial Treatments for my special #SelfCareSundays.
1. Bentonite Clay + Aloe Vera Gel = Facial Care LOVE!
Hands down this is my favorite combo. One part detoxifying, one part hydrating. Having combination skin, it can be challenging to find exfoliants that can be sensitive to your dry areas but exfoliate your oily, clogged pore areas. I will often do this mask in the morning. It's one of my faves and might be yours too! P.S. this mask is also well suite for a fully body mask as well.
2. Aloe Vera Gel = Hydrating Toner
Being that Aloe Vera Gel provides hydration and balances your skin's pH level, Aloe is excellent to replace your toner or can be used in combination with both your toner and Aloe. It's so important to understand that once you cleanse your skin to IMMEDIATELY hydrate prior to applying facial cremes and serums to ensure maximum absorption of your products. Also to remember that moisture and hydration are not the same. Do not apply your moisturizer without hydration first.
3. Aloe Vera Gel = Post Facial Restoration
Facials are like workouts for your skin. It's important to workout, but it's equally important to rest & recover afterwards. The same is true for your skin. Post facial or exfoliation, applying a thick layer of Aloe Vera Gel is an excellent way to deeply hydrate skin before finishing with serums, moisturizers and oils. This is a great to build or maintain your moisture barrier, increase skin's hydration level and decrease oil production.
4. Aloe Vera Gel = Anti-Inflammation Serum
When you experience acne, one of the best things you can do is cleanse the skin, apply an excellent toner and apply a thick layer of Aloe Vera Gel directly to the problem area. It's important to recognize that pimples and acne is a culmination of dirt, dead skin, etc. Keeping the area clean and applying calming ingredients can help to prevent scarring and manage breakouts safely.
